About the Artist:

in numerous collections including those of the Cooper-Hewitt Museum, Harvard
University Library, The Süleymaniye Library, Istanbul, Turkey, and the
Museum of Antiquities, Urumchi, China.
I've been marbling, teaching and writing books about paper art for almost thirty years. Some of the recent books published under my full name, Diane Maurer-Mathison, are Paper in Three Dimensions, The Art of Making Paste Papers, Paper Art, The Ultimate Marbling Handbook, and The Handcrafted Letter. My accordion-fold books, handbound in original decorative papers, include Making Paste Papers, Suminagashi Marbling and Making Fold and Dye Papers.

Classes and Upcoming Events:
I also teach from my home studio near State College, and will hold a class at your convenience for as few as four people, in case you have some friends who'd like to travel with you. My classes run from 10 AM to 3 PM, and most are $85.00 per person, including materials. You can learn watercolor marbling, suminagashi marbling on paper and silk, paste paper design, simple bookbinding, or collage. Private instruction is also available at $300/day.
